Select Mechanical Exercises, by James Ferguson, 1773.The pictures below show a copy of James Ferguson's mechanical paradox orrery that I made for exhibition at the BHI 150th anniversary exhibition. The construction of it was described in a series of articles in the Horological Journal, written with Jim Donelly, who had also made copies using CNC machining techniques.
